Early October 2014
The new puffball continues to grow. The older ones have gone to seed.
We have been seeing the herons on the shore. We saw some white birds almost the same size and think they are Great Egrets.
Great Blue Heron and Great Egret
Heron and Egret
We haven’t seen the turkeys since we had the pasture mowed. They seemed to have split up into male and female groups. Seven males stopped by the bird feeder today. The split up must have been recent and the males are working to establish a pecking order.
Angry and on display
We couldn’t tell who won
We still have a few flowers. It is a tough place for a flower to survive.
Just for me!
I made huevos rancheros for breakfast today. It turned out great………
The turkeys headed down to the beach and bumped into the heron.
Turkeys and Heron
We have been enjoying the wild life here in Newmarket. We saw the deer this morning but failed to get any pictures.
