Happy New Year 2013!

We survived a turbulent 2012 which saw some upheavals in our lives. We were glad to start a new year and are hopeful that 2013 will treat us well. We ushered in the New Year with an evening celebration. We also made cinnamon rolls for breakfast.

Wink related to me that someone made a disparaging remark about this blog, calling it ‘Mutual of Moeller’s Wild Kingdom.’ I don’t get it. It is really very civilized here. If you are in the right spot you can actually see two of our neighbors from our yard, albeit not at the same time. So I just don’t get it.

I was calmly working on my computer one day and there was quite a commotion just outside my window. There were four crows chasing a hawk. As you can see, the crows are almost as big as the hawk and have the potential to gang up on it.

The weather has been so cold that the mouth of the Lamprey River has frozen over. There is open water farther out in the bay, but the food sources on shore are frozen up.

Wink was in the breakfast nook working on her laptop when she some birds come to the bird feeder. She said I should take some pictures for the blog.

Wink counted 36 Turkeys

It seems pretty ordinary to me.

Happy New Year to all!
