The people at Moody Point said we were going to enjoy Spring here. I think they are right. I often find I wish I had a camera with me as you can never tell what will happen. It is baby season here right now. We saw these geese on alert near the shore. It turns out they had three goslings with them. Wink watched them swim off after feeding.
Geese on alert
The robins are still attacking their reflection in our windows. Wink was watching them and saw movement in the near arbor vita. She saw baby robins in a nest. Unfortunately I couldnít get good picture but you can see the beak if you look carefully.
I was reading on the porch with Verdi one morning and these three came strolling up to the bird feeder.
The one on the left looks very pregnant. The center deer is just starting to grow antlers and he looks a lot slimmer than the ladies. The one on the right may be pregnant as well. But it is baby season here in New Hampshire.† The deer showed up again in the evening.
I was lucky enough to watch a heron catch and eat an eel. I took a lot of pictures of the event and selected a few to create a sub blog. There are too many pictures to include here. You can watch the heron eat the eel here.
It canít be too rare that herons eat eels here as two nights later I got a second set of pictures. There is also a sub blog for this one as well. Heron eating eel 2.

I mowed half the lawn today and we got more rain this evening. We already have iris and day lilies blooming. Flower pictures are coming in future blogs. There is endless yard work to do. In two weeks we will have owned the house for one year. It has been an adventure.
