Fall Yard Clean Up

Fall is here and we decided to tackle a little yard work. The yard was a little overgrown and had some undesirable non native plants growing in it. I will show a series of pictures before, during and after the clean up.

Brush East Yard

It seems it would take two people a considerable amount of time to properly take care of four and a half acres. We decided to do a gentle pruning but that was beyond what Wink and I could do. So we enlisted some professional help to make the yard more manageable. The idea was to remove the invasive species and prune and save the native trees. We were fairly aggressive in the treatment and we found a rock wall and apple orchard we didn’t know we had.

East Yard in progress

We were only going to do the East half of the yard this year and make a decision about the West half next summer, but we decided to get it done and they will start on the other half of the yard tomorrow. So the story is not over yet. More to come. Then the hard work starts, getting the yard into manageable shape.
